Molded case circuit breakers can cut off the current automatically when the current exceeds the trip setting. Plastic shell refers to the use of plastic insulators as a device shell, used to isolate the metal between the conductor and ground. Molded case circuit breakers typically contain thermal-magnetic trip-out units, while larger molded-case circuit breakers are equipped with solid-state trip sensors.
